Jean Terrell

Jean's Photo Gallery

There are certain very special people whose inner tranquility and serene beauty can brighten a room just by virtue of their presence. Such is the case with Jean Terrell, the almond-eyed, silken-voiced songstress from Chicago. Jean Terrell was the Lead singer of The 70’s Supremes.  Her hits include “Up The Ladder To The Roof", "Stoned Love”, “Nathan Jones”, Everybody’s Got The Right To Love”, “Floy Joy” and many more.

Jean has worked with Frank Wilson, Bobby Martin, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, and Eddie Kendricks.

Jean is currently working on her first-ever Jazz CD, scheduled to be released later this year. “Through The Eyes Of A Supreme”, Jean Terrell’s music autobiography is available now on DVD through this website.

Brenda Holloway

Brenda's Photo Gallery

Should the music industry ever officially establish a Diva Hall of Fame, there's no questions that Motown chanteuse Brenda Holloway would be a charter member.  Brenda has won numerous awards in her career including the 1999 Rhythm & blues Foundation's Pioneer Award.

The California native was Motown's first Los Angeles-based artist and is an accomplished songwriter and classically trained violinist.  The dulcet-toned singer pairs the "cry in her voice" with subtle shadings of underlying power, giving her songs a quiet force that still works today.  This quality is especially evident on her signature hits, the melancholy ballad "Every Little Bit Hurts' and the sassy, pre-"I Will Survive" anthem "When I'm Gone"

The Very Best of Brenda Holloway dramatically underscores Holloway's standing as one of Motown's and music history's - distinguished female artists.

Brenda has toured with The Beatles at their request and also worked with Berry Gordy, Frank Wilson, Walter and Wallace Scott of The Whispers, The Intruders, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes, Smokey Robinson, The Marvelettes, The Contours, Kim Weston and William "Mickey" Stevenson.

Recently, Brenda has been seen on "My Music-The Motown 60's for Public Broadcast Stations (PBS Television) and her music featured throughout the show "American Dreams" on NBC.

Today, Holloway continues to tour with a vengeance, having made recent appearances across the UK, Europe and throughout the West Cost.

Tara

Tara was born on November 27th in Baltimore, Md. and started her journey of performance at age 7 when a neighbor allowed her to play his conga drums at his band's rehearsal.  She began dancing with the Community Dance Company where she was immediately recognized and utilized for her ability to capture the audience with her talent and stage presence.  After high school, she began traveling the country when in the early 80's, she landed a position as dancer with The Larry Ferrell Dance Theater Company where out of Yale University she performed top productions with some of the nation's most accomplished dancers.

Tara returned to Baltimore and began studying radio broadcasting.  Very soon, she received an internship at Morgan State University radio, WEAA-FM under the tutelage of Barry Young and Kweisi Mfume - former Congressman, CEO NAACP.  In less than 4 months, she was hosting her own radio show.  She was shortly hired at WWIN-FM commercial radio and became one of Baltimore's favorite voices as both radio personality and new broadcaster.

Tara's love for singing lead her to local producer and guitarist, L. "Skip" Dorsey, former musical director for Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.  In 1991 she became the lead singer in the band "Raw Ellegance" featuring and musically directed by James Lloyd (pianist) of Pieces of a Dream and featured Kim Waters (saxophonist).

Tara was the first African American to headline a weekly performance at the Peabody Conservatory of Music's Hotel Rooftop Restaurant.  She performed, co-wrote and co-produced two songs on Pieces' of a Dream's "In Flight" CD, "Club Jazz", and "Evolution of Love".

On her own, she began performing the Chitlin' Circuit ("...to sharpen my chops, learning from the Cats") and has since shared the stage with musical greats Norman Connors, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Roy Ayers, Dionne Warwick, Lonnie Liston Smith and Patti Austin, just to name a few.  This did not come without serious commitment.  Tara attended the College of Notre Dame as an Art Major.  Her thirst for knowledge and her love for reading, human-spirit along with her talent for "getting to the bottom line" made her well-known, respected and admired by her professors and fellow students.  She was the headliner at the College's first jazz concert with huge success.
